The story behind the seminar
The idea behind Responsibility Works and call for valuable social responsibility, came from the work and collaboration between the cross-country ski team, Team Santander, and Right To Play in 2015. The shared focus on being good ambasadors and contribute to society with raising awareness and call for action. In 2015 we arranged the event “4 hours for valuable social responsibility” (www.4timer.no), where we had key opinion leaders from politics, business, media, NGO and sports. The first year was a success and we can now present this years event; “The value of social responsibility – what can you learn from the best?”
Today we see the trend that businesses are constantly striving to interpret how global trends affect companies and see it as our social mission to provide services in the market to help businesses reducing negative impact on society and the environment, while strengthening positive presence. Leadership and business-driven social responsibility where profitability and sustainability are interrelated. It helps our customers understand how accountability will have a positive effect on the financial statements.
Responsibility Works wants to convey the expertise and to share best-practice knowledge of sustainability and corporate responsibility from some of the most successful leaders. Our goal is to provide policy makers, directors, managers, responsible for the profession, and others interested an insight into the subject, as well as provide useful input for efforts to achieve increased profitability and sustainability.
Business reporting on social responsibility is a consequence of good corporate governance. Good reporting is characterized in that it brings out how the work with sustainability and social responsibility strengthens other operations, and that the information reflects the work in an open and balanced way. Leaders and organizations that succeed in this are often rewarded by media, employees and customers (add?: taking ownership of strategic objectives on corporate responsibility with subsequent good results)
We are proud of the list of speakers we have for this years event, lead by Sir Richard Branson. The seminar also has great support from Right To Play and partners. In addition we have a dinner event with musical entertainment, and where participants can meet the speakers.
Income from the event will be donated to Right To Play and charitable work.
